Monrovia, Liberia – All buildings constructed over sewage and water lines are being demolished by the Ministry of Public Works, especially in Central Monrovia.

All owners of buildings found to be endangering the public utility were given a seven-day warning at the request of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation.

Owners of the specified structures were supposed to vacate and relocate before to the exercise, since the Notice was supposed to expire on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The deconstruction of the buildings gives the LWSC complete access to the sewage pipes, enabling thorough system cleaning and maintenance, the organization said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

According to the LWSC, the exercise that attracted a lot of attention from observers and provoked a range of emotions would go on throughout the month in Central Monrovia and the surrounding area, impacting all marked structures.
