Golden Veroleum fine 1Million LRD over fake license

The Ministry of Education office in Sinoe County has fined oil palm Company Golden Veroleum Liberia, over one million Liberian dollars for allegedly operating a fake license.

In a telephone interview with reports reports231on Friday, Sinoe County Education Officer Alphonso Kanbo noted that the decision was based on GVL’s alleged act of illegally operating an elementary school without the required government license.

Kanbo, stated that since 2013, GVL has been illegally operating a school in Butaw Estate, Sinoe County. He stressed that despite the company huge contribution to the county particularly the education sector it is unfortunate for a company like GVL to be in violation of the government set requirements.

GVL is a strategist long-term investor in Liberia, whose founders and investors hold the deep belief that oil palm development can and should be carried out responsibly and sensitively. Such development will offer opportunities of prosperity for communities while ensuring environmental conservation, stability, sustainability and investment returns by working with key stakeholders.
