The Liberia National Handball Association says it is in need of three thousand eight hundred ninety United States dollars (3890USD) to honor the upcoming Minor River Union tournament in Kenama, Sierra Leone from December 29 to January 1, 2022.
The tournament will feature five disciplines, namely: Teqball, Handball, Athletics, Wheel Chair Marathon, and Para Weight Lifting. The Liberia National Handball Association President appealed for swift intervention from the Government of Liberia, humanitarian organizations to enable them to participate in the tournament.
“Technically we are prepared, but the biggest challenge here is finance. We have engaged the Ministry of Youth and Sports but up to present no response, which is becoming very difficult for us. We have also written some companies, but they are yet to give us an official response and we are supposed to be leaving from here next week Tuesday for the tournament. Now, besides the upcoming Minor River Union Tournament in Kenema, Sierra Leone, we have several other international Tournaments that have already been arranged for next year, but the urgent one is Sierra Leone’s tournament, Larpor concludes”.
