Minister Ruth Coker Collins honored by four CSO

Acting public works Minister Ruth Coker Collins has threatened robust actions against individuals constructing and living along allay and waterways across the Country. According to Minister Coker Collins, the continuous construction of houses along drainages and in allays ways particularly in Monrovia is hugely contributing to the effects of flooding in many communities.

 She disclosed that her administration will go after those involved, as part of efforts to control the situation. The acting Public Works Minister said under her watch, Liberia will experience infrastructural changes as well as improved roads connectivity throughout the country.

Madam Ruth Coker Collins made the statement on Thursday, December 23, 2021, when she received joint awards from four civil society organizations, as the most outstanding Minister of the year 2021.

 They include; ECOWAS civil society of Liberia, women initiatives Network of Liberia, professional Network of Paynesville, and the coalition of youth and students for better Liberia. Minister Coker Collins described the awards as a challenge for the public works ministry including her pledge to make more steps for the people of Liberia.

Meanwhile, presenting the awards, a coalition of youth and students for better Liberia chairperson Jeremiah Paye said, the exercise was in recognition of the many strides made by Minister Collins ranging from the successful completion and turning over of the Du river bridge and the Harper to Cavalla custom road in Maryland County among others.

Madam Ruth Coker Collins Public Works is also carrying out massive work on the Lofa-Bong road linking the two counties.
