PRESS RELEASE: LNP Forwards to Court Three Men for Allegedly Mobbing to Death a Local Businessman

The Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated and duly charged suspects, Thomas Blamo, 22, Mohammed Koroma, 28, and Boakai Passaway, 33 for allegedly beating to death victim Kolubah Marshall and assaulting victim Mohammed Sheriff, two local businessmen of Johnson Street, Monrovia.

Suspect Thomas Blamo, a resident of the New Kru Town community was arrested on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, for his alleged actions in recklessly endangering another person, with criminal conspiracy, criminal facilitation, and false public alarm on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Vai Town, Bushrod Island alleging that victims Kolubah Marshall and Mohammed Sheriff attempted stealing his motorbike.

During Police’s in-depth investigation conducted, it was revealed that suspects, Koroma, Passaway, and others to be identified were on the scene where suspect Blamo raised a false alarm which led to the victim being criminally beaten to death and leaving Mohammed Sheriff also seriously injured.

Both suspects were later arrested on March 19 & 28, 2022 at different locations respectively.

It was also established that victims Kolubah Marshall and Mohammed Sheriff prior to the incident were involved in the sale of broken pieces of tiles and used bidets/commodes at Johnson Street in Monrovia and had left their business area in search of tiles for marketing purposes.

Victims Kolubah Marshall and Mohammed Sheriff were both rushed to the John F. Kennedy Hospital for medical treatment, but victim Marshall was pronounced dead by doctors, while victim Sheriff was later discharged.

Police investigators also unearthed that, while suspect Thomas Blamo was riding along the Vai Town, Bushrod Island, he was using an opposite lane as he hit victim Kolubah Marshall who later seized his bike key, which prompted him (suspect Blamo) to alarm that his bike was being taken away by thieves.

In view of the foregoing facts, suspects’ admittance, and witnesses’ accounts, suspects Mohammed Koroma and Boakai Passaway were charged with the crimes of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in violation of Chapter 14 and 10, Section 14.1, 14.20 and 10.1 of the revised penal code of Liberia, their unidentified accomplices likewise in absentia and suspect Thomas Blamo with the crimes Endangering Another Person, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Facilitation, and False Public Alarm and have been forwarded to court for prosecution.
