Presidential hopeful Cllr. Taiwan Gongloe was yesterday seen at the grounds of the Temple of Justice earlier Thursday morning with a broom sweeping in front of the building.
The clean-up activity, according to the former LNBA president, was a means for him to clean up the country’s justice system.
Cllr. Gongloe cited various reasons for his uncommon sweep of the Temple of Justice, including inequities, favoritism, nepotism, and huge and uncontrollable corruption.
He went on to say that the system is rife with corruption, which is eroding the judiciary’s dignity, respect, and trust.
Cllr. Gongloe’s conduct comes months after Chief Justice Francis Korkpor said that the country’s judicial system is riddled with corruption.
But Liberia’s Solicitor General Cllr. Syrenius Sayma Cephus has criticized the action of the former LNBA President, noting that he has no proof of what his action represents.
