Pres. Weah Brake silence on 26 Protest clash

President George Weah has finally broken silence on the July 26, 2022, independent day saga that led to the hospitalization of student Christopher Walter Sisulu Sivili of the University of Liberia.

President Weah has condemned the violence melted against students of the campus-based political party under the banner Students Unification Party (SUP).

The Liberian Leader has mandated the Ministry of Justice and the entire National security apparatus to immediately arrest all those involved in the violent incident and to ensure that they face the full weight of the law.

The Liberian executive has also instructed the Ministry of Health to ensure that all those who sustained injuries during the violent attack around the United States Embassy near Monrovia be given the best medication at the expense of the Coalition for Democratic Change ( CDC) led government.

President Weah at the same time distances the Coalition for Democratic Change from the auxiliary group; he expressed that officials of the party do not recognize such group calling themselves CDC-Council Of Patriots.

When you come to join us, you become a CDC, partisan of peace, democracy, and development despite our political differences we are one people president Weah narrated.

President Weah made the statement Monday, August 1, 2022, at a local radio station ELBC in Paynesville, Monrovia.

It can be recorded that the former youth wing Leader of the Council of Patriots (COP) Ben Togbah officially join the ruling establishment and found the CDC- Council of Patriots at the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) head Quarters in Congo Town.

The CDC-Council Of Patriots Secretary General Foday N. Massaquoi at that time accused the opposition bloc of wanting to defame the National government, Inciting civil Rights unions, and students against the government, and the act of sponsoring some media Institutions to stage “yellow Journalism.

He also alleged that the opposition is aimed at creating economic sabotage for the government and a plan to create electoral violence at the time.
