Monrovia- Release-President George Manneh Weah has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion marking the observance of Germany’s Unity Day Anniversary.
In the message to his German counterpart, His Excellency Frank Walker-Steinmeier, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the German leader, and through him, to the Government and people of Germany, as they commemorate this historic event in the midst of the prevailing global security and economic challenges.
The Liberian leader further entertained the hope that the two leaders will work together to expand cooperation in international affairs for the promotion of global peace and security.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader stated that Liberia enjoys excellent bilateral relations with Germany, which he noted has resulted in a meaningful partnership that has contributed to Liberia’s national development efforts.
The Federal Republic of Germany will on Monday, October 3, 2022, commemorate German Unity Day. German Unity Day is a Public holiday that commemorates the anniversary of German reunification in 1990, when the goal of United Germany, which originated in the middle of the 19TH Century, was fulfilled again.
President Weah expressed optimism that under President Walker-Steinmeier’s leadership, the ties of friendship between Liberia and Germany will be further deepened with a closer bond forged between the two peoples, thereby strengthening the two countries’ shared values and principles.
The Liberian President then prayed for President Frank Walker-Steinmerer’s personal well-being and for the continued peace and prosperity of the people of Germany.
