I Want War-Crime Court Say’s General Butt Naked

Mount Barclay, Paynesville. – Evangelist Joshua Milton Blahyi, alias General Butt Naked, a former warlord now a humanitarian, has strongly disagreed with Mr. Simeon Freeman, political leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC), who called on citizens to give up their quest for the establishment of the War and Economic Crime Court in the Country.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, evangelist Blahyi said, Liberians who participated in the 14-year Civil conflict in the country should not go with impunity. He was speaking at a news conference at his Mount Barclay home in Paynesville.

The formation of the Court in the nation, he continued, would put an end to the culture of impunity and act as a deterrence to anyone considering violence. He pointed out that the civil war in Liberia, a country in West Africa, ravaged the country between 1989 and 2003, causing an estimated 150,000 to 2,500 deaths among men, women, and children as well as the emigration of more than half the population.

He claimed that some citizens are still living with trima as a result of their wartime acts because their parents were killed before them; as a result, individuals who took part in the conflict must make restitution.

Evangelist Joshua Milton Blahyi said that the Court’s establishment is crucial because it will lead to the growth and development of the nation.

It can be recalled that the MPC presidential candidate argued, during a presidential debate, that the effort to establish a war and economic crimes court in the nation is insignificant. He cautioned citizens to direct their complaints towards the high unemployment rate and obvious high level of corruption that continue to stall development in the country.

Warlord Evangelist Blahyi disagrees with the political leader of the MPC’s assertion that Liberians will only see significant growth when the culture of impunity is abolished.
