Monrovia, Liberia – The Joint Presidential Transition Team (JPTT) Steering Committee members have announced the location of the inauguration on January 22, 2024. According to reporters on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in Monrovia, Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, the Dean of the Cabinet and Co-Chair of the departing Transitional Team, stated that the government had received a request for use of the Capitol Building from the incoming administration.
“We received a request from the incoming administration that His Excellency Amb. Joseph N. Boakai, Sr., and Vice President-Elect Hon. Jeremiah Kpan Koung, along with the incoming administration, have resolved to propose to the incumbent administration that the inauguration venue be at the Capitol Building.”
According to Minister Kemayah, the CDC administration received the notification in good faith. However, a follow-up response would be made after consulting with Liberian President George Weah.
