Monrovia, Liberia – A 32-year-old man identified as Bennett Duncan has been arrested, charged, and forwarded to Court for impersonating a Police Officer. Defendant Duncan was arrested on July 4, 2023, at about 10 PM at the Barnesville Junction checkpoint while carrying out his usual duties.

He accused officer 107 of the Liberia National Police of using him to arrest cars, kehkeh, and even humans under the pretense that he is a police officer.

According to defendant Duncan, he went to arrest a car at Barnesville junction as he normally does at which time he was arrested by this same 107 he alleged to have been working with. Defendant Duncan admitted that he has been impersonating as police officer for the past three years.

He added that a police officer only known as George Tamba had given him the police uniform he had been using to commit his unlawful deeds.

According to the Police charging sheet, defendant Duncan was intimidating peaceful residents of the Gardnerville belt by impersonating a police officer.
