Paynesville, Montserrado County – The Liberia Taekwondo Federation has concluded a three-day program designed to refocus athletes’ minds in preparation for upcoming tournaments. The Master Russian School of Wushua in Paynesville hosted the lecture on Saturday, October 14–16, 2023. Veteran Taekwondo Master Fernando Abaga Edjang of Equatorial Guinea led the seminar, which included 34 Black Belt holders from Liberia.

After a fantastic exhibition of talent, the athletes were chosen from the federation’s most recent competition. On Monday, October 16, 2023, Master Edjang informed Reports231 in an interview that many African nations are still unaware of a new Taekwondo technique.

He claimed that in order to keep Africans from embarrassing themselves in the upcoming Olympic competitions, he has been throughout the continent of Africa, teaching athletes the new or added methods.

”To learn these modern Taekwondo styles is expensive for many Africans because they lack the finance to travel to Korea to obtain the needed knowledge. I’m not just teaching, but I have been donating materials to wherever I conduct sernimar as a means of helping in my own way.”

Four athletes, Ansumana Sanneh, Alieu Sanneh, Morr Dibba, and Salla Njie, were brought to Liberia by Master Fernando Abaga Edjang.
