President George Manneh Weah has received letters of credence from the South African, Gambia, Czech Republic, and ECOWAS Commissions. Mr. M. Igbal Jhazbhay of South Africa, Mr. Alieu Jammeh of Gambia, Mr. Jan Furry of the Czech Republic, and Mrs. Josephine Nkrumah, the new head of the ECOWAS Mission in Liberia, handed the letters.

President Weah welcomed the Ambassadors to Liberia at separate ceremonies conducted at the Executive Mansion on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, and assured them of his government’s commitment to upholding and strengthening Liberia’s bilateral connections with their respective countries and governments.

The President of Liberia was pleased with the way things have evolved since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1997, as seen by the opening of embassies near their respective capital cities: Pretoria and Monrovia, he informed Ambassador M. Igbal Jhazbhay, new South Africa Ambassador. Liberia’s President assured the incoming South African envoy of his country’s and the international community’s commitment to promoting peace and security in Africa and the rest of the globe.
