Opposition Liberty Party (LP) and Montserrado County senator Abraham D. Dillon has termed the absence of Liberty Party chairman Musa Bility from the official signing ceremony of the corrected version of the party 2021 Constitution as a clear revival of whom the actual problem is in the party.

After the official signing ceremony of the Liberty Party corrected constitution version, Senator Dillon described the signing as a real good day and revamping of the party because they have had issues in the party for too long but with the signing event marks the begining of a new dawn in the party for them to focus and move ahead.

The absence of Musa Bility faction means that the public will get to know who the problems are and were the problems lyed. They have now identified who the real problem is in the LP. However, Liberty Party will continue to pursure peace and recncilation because we have dragged this thing for long and now what i want to say is that LP will never go back in the mute” Senator Dillon noted.

Justifying reason that led to the prolonged delay of the Liberty Party to sign the constitution despite the Supreme Court 72 hours which elapsed long, Senator Dillon noted they delayed in implementing the Supreme Court mandate because they to show other issues in the party.

The LP stalwart spoke with newsmen on July 11, 2022 at the Bolavard Hotel in Sinkor after the party officially signed the corrected version of January 2021 constitution in keeping with its Farmington Agreement.

The signing ceremony was graced by officiasl of the Liberty Party mostly those from Grand Bassa County Senator and LP Political leader faction Nyoublee Kangar-Lawrence while Chairman Bility faction was absence.

The Liberty Party corrected version was signed by Mr. Jacob Smith, secretary General of Senator Kangar-Laweence faction who she introduced as chairman on the convenction and approved by her as Political Leader and presiding of the convention.

Remarking before the official signing ceremony, Senator Kanga-Lawrence said that the corrected version of the Liberty Party January 2021 Constitution has been signed and resubmitted to the National Elections Commission.

” This action is an outcome of a memorandum of understanding that was signed by the Political Leader, the Chairman, their resource persons and members of the National Advisory Council (NAC) of Liberty Party at the Farmington Hotel. And was also acknowledged and upheld by all parties In separate conferences at the Supreme Court with Justices Wolokollie and Yuoh.”

They also reaffirmed their commitment to the execution of the MOU that is binding by their signatures, by agreeing to correcting the constitution and resubmitting to NEC, according to LP Karnga-lawrence.

“Because Mr. Bility refused to honor the invitation for both parties to participate and witness the signing of the constitution, I have invoked Article 6 Section 1 paragraph 3 of the 2021 Constitution which is consistent with the party’s 2015 constitution that governed the January 2021 convention” she noted.

    The provision reads thus

“The Standard Bearer/Political Leader, in consultation and collaboration with the NEC, shall formulate policy and procedures to implement the decisions of the National Convention, call Special Conventions as provided for in Article VIII, and take such other actions and proper measures that he/she may deem as necessary to advance the best interest of the Party.”

Accordingly, Senator Kangar-Lawrence disclosed that she has instructed the Secretary of the Convention, Mr. Jacob J. Smith, to sign the Constitution for submission to the Authority of the National Elections Commission. Today, Monday the constitution was signed and resubmitted.
