The Wells-Hairston High School located on Mechlin Street, Central Monrovia has received a newly constructed cafeteria. The newly constructed is President George Weah initiative and goodwill gesture to the school as a former student of that educational center.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony in Monrovia on Thursday, November 25, 2021, the Liberia Leader charged the students to write their own stories because they are the only ones who knows their stories.  He spoke in context to encourage the young to step up in their education sojourn.

President Weah said the building of the cafeteria is his way of giving back to the school despite all the sporting victories he gave the school. He noted that the institution is a private one as such; the new build is his own sponsorship and promised to restructure the basketball court and do his best for the institution.

Mr. Weah charged the school especially the students to take good care of the facility else it will end up in the old situation. He added that the good care of the bathrooms will speak to the good health of the students on campus.

The President at the same time cautioned the students to take their lessons and education very seriously, noting that is the best choice. “ALWAYS BE POSITIVE AND NOT NEGATIVE, MOVE WITH PEOPLE WHO WILL IMPACT YOUR LIFE AND NOT WITH PEOPLE THAT WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND BRING YOU DOWN OR DESTROY YOU”, Mr. Weah encouraged young Liberians.

According to The Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) Boss Perci Yeke, President Weah instructed him to renovate the two deplorable bathrooms at the cafeteria, but due to their inspection at the site, they recommended that the entire structure be broken and rebuilt of which the Liberia Leader accepted.

Mr. Yeke said, the new structure has ten (10) bathrooms, three (3) extra rooms, a cafeteria sitting place and a kitchen, and a long hall with a connection to the main school building. The expert informed the media that the total cost of the structure is USD$120,000.00.

Meanwhile the Principle of the school Mr. Michael thanked the president for the new cafeteria and praised him for his contribution to the school through sports and now a physical structure. He handed over to the president his old football booth to sign on in order to keep it in their archive.

The student body also praise and thanked Mr. Weah for looking their way and remembering his root. They pleaded for scholarship.
