Senator Steve Zargo of Lofa County has vowed to lead planned protests by some supporters of Brownie Samukai during President’s Weah state of the Nation address on Monday, January 24, 2022. The Lofa County Senator statement comes after the recent actions of the Organization, Friends of Brownie Samukai threatened to stage a protest to demand the certification of the Lofa County Senator-elect at President George Weah state of address program.

Speaking on a local Radio station in Monrovia, (OK FM) on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, the Lofa County Senator said he strongly supports the upcoming protest adding he will lead the protest because he is the servant of Citizens of the County. Senator Zargo said, the people of Lofa County are unhappy and having miss-feeling about the dissections of their Senator-elect not yet being certificated to represent his county at the 54th National Legislature.

“I am in consultation and assurance with some of Lofa legislative causes to boycott President’s Weah State of the National Address”, he explained.

During the December 8, 2021, senatorial election, the Lofa county senator elect won the county election but was convicted, something which led him not to be certificated by the National election Commission of Liberia.

According to a court ruling, Brownie Samukai with other government officials was involved in a criminal act by using the Aram forces of Liberia (AFL) money during the former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf regime in 2016.
