Monrovia, Liberia – Ambassadors FC title chances hit a serious setback following a 1-1 draw with Soccer Ambassadors FC in match day 20 of the Orange Women’s National League played at the ATS during the weekend.
Soccer Ambassadors FC were on course to take all three points after going head in the opening minutes of the match, courtesy of Nigerian International Unyime Johnson individual effort.
However, Ambassadors FC responds from Dalphine Glao before the end of the first half to save their title chances.
Though there were perfect coordination in the second half from the league leaders, but they could not get a winner over their rival’s ambassador clubs as the match ended 1-1 which ruined their title chances.
The result leaves Ambassadors FC on 50 points, while defending champions Determine Girls are second with 49 points and just two matches remaining to climax the 2022/2023 league season.
Soccer Ambassadors are 5th place in the league table with 27 points following the draw.
In other matches played in the same competition: Hippo FC condemned former Champions Earth Angels to a 2- 1 defeat to pill more pressure on them in their relegation battle.
Barnesville based Blanco FC relegation survival was ruined at the hands of City Football Academy after a painful 1-0 defeat to remain 11th place in the 12th teams table with 11 points from 20 league matches.
3rd place World Girls collected all three points at the expense of LEAD Monrovia Football Academy to move on 40 points while Senior Female Professionals remained 4th place on 36points after a frustrating 0-0 draw with Bassa Girls at the Doris Williams Stadium in Buchana, Grand Bassa County.
