leads Lofa to its first basketball championship at the County Meet level.

Monrovia, Liberia – Anthony S. Quadri, a powerful Barrolle youngster, was amazing to witness during the basketball portion of the 2024–2025 National County Sports Meet, which took place at the SKD facility in Paynesville City.

The Liberian government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, organized the National County Sports Meet every year as a way to unite people and promote peace, unity, and peace.

The theme for this year’s event was “Inclusive Development Through Sports.” Basketball, kickball, and football were the three sports that were played.

At the tournament’s conclusion, the youngster’s exceptional effort earned him two individual awards and gave Lofa County its first championship since the county’s founding in 1964 under former President Williams v. Tubman Western Province.

In the same year that the Policy was implemented, Lofa, Nimba, Bong, and Grand Gedeh were founded. The Rollers Super Star who was part of their squad in the 2024 edition of the Road to BALL won the highest scorer and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.

In an effort to boost his confidence, the organizers and their partners give him twenty thousand Liberian dollars for each of the awards. Because of his instrumentality, Lofa won every match in the competition.

After Sinoe grabbed control of the match in the first two quarters of the grand final on Saturday, February 1, 2025, the gym was nearly silent. Sinoe led Lofa by 17 points throughout the course of the two quarters, but Lofa surpassed them in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 50-49, and finished the match with 65-61 points in the fourth quarter, ending the County trophy drought.

After losing 53-50 in the zonal, Sinoe finished second to Lofa in this year’s tournament.

The iconic Lofa County meet song, “We Ready oo,” peaked when Lofians couldn’t contain their emotions and staged a massive celebration on the court during the match’s conclusion.

In recognition of their accomplishments, the organizers and their partners presented Lofa County a trophy and six hundred thousand Liberian dollars.

However, the third-place winner, Grand Gedeh County, received two hundred thousand Liberian dollars, while the losing finalists, Sinoe County, received four hundred thousand.
