The National Elections Commission, (NEC), in collaboration with Democracy International (DI), has officially launched its Election Essay Contest for Poll Workers who participated in the 2020 Special Senatorial Elections, (SSE), and the 16 November 2021 Representative By-elections. According to NEC, the United States Aid for International Development, USAID, is providing funding for the 2022 Election Essay Contest. The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) and the University of Liberia Administration have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a degree program in Fisheries Science to be offered at the state-run university. The program, which will be funded by the World Bank and will cost US$1.2 million, aims to build the capacity of aspiring fishery scientists to manage Liberia’s rich fisheries sector.
