Monrovia, Liberia – Since December 31, Dani Olmo’s future has been uncertain because Barcelona was unable to register him with La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) because of financial regulations. This puts the player in a difficult position where they can either get registration or get a free transfer.

Sending the player out on loan was one sort of compromise approach that was suggested, but regrettably, Barcelona does not have that choice. Since RFEF rules require players to be registered in order to enable a loan, neither Dani Olmo nor Pau Víctor, who are in a similar predicament, may be loaned out by Barcelona for the rest of the season.

The rights resulting from the registration of its professional football players may be temporarily loaned or permanently transferred by clubs, according to Article 158 of the federation’s General Regulations, which regulates loan agreements. Both players are unable to obtain a loan if they are not registered.

The Blaugrana club will not be able to loan either Dani Olmo or Pau Víctor between now and the end of the season since the RFEF’s General Regulations necessitate registration before a loan can be made.

It is made clear that they have to be registered under Article 158 of these laws, which govern loans. The first aspect is emphasized by the statement, “Clubs can transfer the rights derived from the registration of their professional football players temporarily or permanently.”Neither Pau Víctor nor Dani Olmo may leave without registering.

Loans are not permitted, and transfers are not possible either. The rules prohibit a player who is not registered from being transferred to another team, even if Barcelona were ready to give up its top 2024 acquisition.

“Clubs may transfer the rights derived from the registration and license of their footballers under agreed conditions,” as stated in Article 160 of the RFEF regulations on permanent transfers, emphasizes this point. There can be no transfer without registration.

Olmo and Pau Víctor would have no choice but to end their contracts and go with another team to end the season if registration problems are not resolved. But once they finish their contracts abroad, this may open the way for them to return to Barcelona.

It is reported that both players are now training normally in anticipation of future developments.
