Monrovia, Liberia – Bea Mountain FC’s chances of obtaining silverware have hit a serious setback following a surprise defeat to a second side, Shaita FC, on Sunday in the Orange Cup at the Technical Center in Carysburge. Though the Maintainers were on course for progression to the next round after going ahead with a Kaleo Anderson spot kick in the first half.

However, things got bitter after recess as Shaita FC leveled through Ezekiel Tamba and went on to win 3-1 on penalties. Coach Robert Lateh’s boys will now focus on winning the First Division League to put aside a long-awaited trophy drought, which could welcome their debut appearance in the CAF Champions League for the 2024–2025 season.

In the same tournament, Mighty Barrolle defeated Pags FC 2-0 in Grand Bassa County on Sunday, November 5, 2023, to advance to the next round. Following a well-earned 4-2 victory over Nimba United in a penalty kick after the game at the SKD practice field, FC Kallon Liberia also advanced to the following level. Played in regulation time, the score was 2-2.

In their respective victories over Nimba Kwado FC and Black Man Warrior in penalties, the Royal Boys of Junior Professionals and Samira FC also advanced to the next round. At the SKD practice pitch in Paynesville City, Paynesville FC narrowly defeated Gardnersville FC 1-0, while Sinoe NPA suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss at home to Life FC in Greenville.
