SAYS THEY AWAIT ANY FORM OF RESISTANCE FROM THE CDC
Monrovia, Liberia – The former president George Weah’s July 31, 2024, press conference has received an official response from the Liberian government, headed by the Boakai administration. According to the Boakai government, they are prepared for any opposition from the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Political Party.
As the CDC has threatened, the Liberian government has also issued a warning, saying it is ready to face any opposition.
The former president declared that his party would adamantly oppose the political and legal prosecution of former officials in response to what his party perceives as a witch-hunt against them.
Former President Weah’s remarks send a bad message that Liberians should not take seriously, according to Government Spokesman Jerolinmek Piah, who made these remarks at a press conference on Thursday, August 2, 2024.
According to Piah, the former President’s position made it clear how the Weah-Taylor administration operated as a fake government for the past six years.
