Boakai Upbeats Of AAID “This Is Our Moment To Transform Liberia.”

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai has called his government’s introduction of the County Development Agendas (CDAs) and the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) a “moment to transform the country. “President Boakai stated, “This is our moment to transform Liberia,” during the AAID and CDAs’ launch in Grand Bassa County on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. “We will work together to make this vision a reality and build a country where no one is left behind.”

According to him, Liberia will continue to be an active and involved player in regional and global development since the ARREST Agenda is in line with international frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Africa’s Agenda 2063, and ECOWAS Vision 2050.

According to President Boakai, the AAID embodies a shared vision for a successful, resilient, and inclusive Liberia.

He noted that the plan represents a common commitment to ending poverty, lowering inequality, and maximizing each Liberian’s potential rather than merely a written document.

According to the Liberian leader, the AAID and CDAs were created after thorough discussions with stakeholders from all facets of society, including youth, farmers, entrepreneurs, people with disabilities, and diaspora members.

According to President Boakai, the frameworks address important national issues including unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, and restricted access to healthcare and education while placing a high priority on equity, sustainability, governance, and inclusion.

“The AAID and CADs are based on the lessons learned and the successes of earlier initiatives like the Agenda for Transformation, the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development, and the Poverty Reduction Strategy,” he said.

Modernizing infrastructure, promoting good governance, reviving the economy, and empowering citizens are some of the top aims of the ARREST Agenda that the president listed.

In his call for cooperation, President Boakai urged government agencies, civil society organizations, and foreign development partners to coordinate their activities with the objectives of the ARREST Agenda. President Boakai urged everyone involved to be dedicated to the plan’s effective implementation during the launch.

Addressing Liberia’s development issues and generating long-term economic prospects are the goals of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (2025–2029).
