Roberts Field, Margibi – The ECOWAS 63rd Ordinary Session in Guinea Bissau, according to Liberia’s ECOWAS envoy and Bomi County Senator, Edwin Melvin Snow, was productive. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, has been chosen to lead ECOWAS for the upcoming year, he explains.

President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau was unanimously chosen to lead the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in 2022. He was chosen to succeed two-term Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo at the 61st ECOWAS meeting in Accra, Ghana.

According to the Bomi Law marking, Tinubu promised to make the region vibrant and free of coup d’état, emphasizing that Nigeria will fulfill its proper position as the organization’s leader.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his acceptance speech said, “Democracy is very difficult, but it is the best form of government, so we will take it seriously.”

Speaking on the October 10, 2023, elections in Liberia, Senator Snow said there is the need to speak and practice peace before, during and after the election. He added that there is a need to invest in the media and security. The Liberian Law marker noted that investing in the two sectors is a boost to a successful election, noting that the public need to be guarded by the media and protected by security.
