Jefferson Koijee, secretary general of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, has promised to mobilize Alexander Cummings ANC in support of president George Weah’s reelection in 2023. The mayor of the City of Monrovia stated that he will do all his effort to get the Alternative National Congress to join the coalition for president Weah’s reelection.
Addressing Journalists the newly elected Secretary General of the CDC declared on Thursday, December 29, 2022, in Monrovia that because President George Weah has carried out significant development throughout the nation, the opposition should support his reelection, particularly the Party Leader of the CPP.
ANC Standard Alexander B. Cummings maintained he will ensure that president George Weah remains a one-term president by preventing his re-election democratically.
However, the CDC Secretary-General stated that there will be vigorous negotiation with the ANC’s standard beaver regarding his support for the established order.
The Alternative National Congress has, in the meantime, responded forcefully to CDC Secretary General Jefferson Koijee’s remarks. The ANC, through its Secretary General Cllr. Allicious Toe reaffirmed the party’s resolve to ensure that the George Weah-led administration lasts only one term.
The ANC went on to say that this declaration from the CDC Secretary-General is a blatant sign that Cummings will win in 2023 and that the ruling party’s disruption strategy for the opposition community would continue. The Alternative National Congress also asked its members and supporters not to be intimidated by what it referred to as misinformation that the leadership of the ruling coalition had exposed.
