BENEFITING POST AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Monrovia, Liberia – In an effort to maintain ongoing bilateral relations with the government of Liberia, the People’s Republic of China has started to support the social-economic advancement and communication infrastructure of eight of the country’s fifteen counties.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications of the Government of Liberia received a solar power project donation from the People’s Republic of China through its Embassy in that country.
The project when implemented, central offices and post offices throughout eight counties will have access to a clean, green, stable, and dependable power source. The counties to gain for the solar power include, Montserrado, Bomi, Magibi, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, and Grand Bassa counties among others.
The equipment was formally turned over to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications by delegates from the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, led by Ambassador Yin Chengwu.
According to Ambassador YIN, Liberia’s local communication infrastructure will benefit from the Solar Power Project. He stated that the solar power project is a significant accomplishment of China and Liberia’s practical cooperation, demonstrating China’s commitment to supporting LibEria’s social and economic development.
Ambassador Yin expressed gratitude for being able to witness the handover ceremony OF the solar power project. He continued that China will keep collaborating with the Liberian government and people to advance real cooperation in all spheres of life and positively impact the establishment of a China-Liberia community with a shared future.
Liberia and China are wonderful brothers, partners, and friends. The relationship between China and Liberia is entering a new phase thanks to the strong leadership and strategic direction of Presidents Xi Jinping and Joseph Boakai. As usual, China will uphold the values of genuineness, tangible outcomes, amity, and good faith in its relations with Liberia and work together to foster positive outcomes in their amicable, practical, and win-win cooperation, Ambassador Yin added.
Via Ambassador Yin, Minister Kromah conveyed his delight and gratitude to the People’s Republic of China upon accepting the solar power equipment on behalf of the Government of Liberia.
According to him, Liberians are appreciative of China’s numerous contributions to the country’s infrastructure and growth.
The Minister acknowledge China’s capacity-building efforts at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications before taking lead role at the ministry.
