Former Deputy Information Minister Eugene Fahngon has informed the Liberian populace that he will be a candidate in the 2023 general and presidential elections but did not clearly state which position he will be contesting for.

Former Assistant Minister for Press and Public Affairs  Fahngon was dismissed by President Weah after he was accused of spreading false information about the government in early 2021. The former Deputy Minister told Tuesday’s edition of the OK Morning Rush that he will not be contesting to be president or either senator or representative based on advice from his exploratory committee.

Former Minister Fahngon said he is not going for the well-connected people but rather those that he has served in the last three years who are the grass rooters. Former Deputy Minister Eugene Fahngon informed Liberians that he was been targeted unfairly and stood the test of time to give an opportunity to those he called his detractors to make good on their promise.

Minister Fahngon added that he succeeded in beating the opposition propaganda that he said was not good for the government at the time.
