Monrovia, Liberia – Mr. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the Chief of Staff in the office of former President George M. Weah, has been given 48 hours to publicly retract what former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia Cllr. Kabineh M. Ja’neh has described as defamatory accusations made against Mr. Sam Gaye, the Director of the Executive Protective Service (EPS).

Following Mr. Nagbe’s recent assertion in a live broadcast on OK FM that he had been informed of a photograph showing Mr. Gaye pointing a pistol at the head of former President Weah. The accusation has now drawn criticism and outrage from the public.

In a sharply written letter to Mr. Nagbe dated April 8, 2025, Cllr. Ja’neh called the accusations “false, defamatory, and reckless,” cautioning that the remark has seriously damaged Mr. Gaye’s reputation both domestically and internationally.

Cllr. Ja’neh wrote, “The accusations and defamatory statements made against Mr. Gaye are completely false. However, they have led to an incalculable public rejection of Mr. Gaye’s reputation on a national and worldwide scale.”

Cllr. Ja’neh added that Mr. Nagbe’s remarks have seriously raised questions about the moral character and professional ethics of Mr. Gaye, a longtime security expert who has served the country for decades.

He warned that Mr. Nagbe would have no choice but to take proper legal action if he did not publish a public retraction within 48 hours of receiving the message. Meanwhile Mr. Nagbe is yet publicly replied to the demand.
