Monrovia, Liberia, Release -The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is compelled to address the misleading headlines and stories published by The Oracle Newspaper and Independent Probe, which read, ‘Kemayah Confirms Visa Revocation’, ‘US Govt. Revokes Maxwell Kemayah’s Visa’ and ‘US$21,000 UNGA Corruption Ghost Hunts Kamayah’, respectively.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia vehemently debunks these headlines and publications of the Oracle Newspaper and Independent Probe and seeks to set the record straight because not only are such publications malicious and politically motivated by a longtime continuous failled take down campaign against H.E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet, but more so self- seeking and dangerous and yellow to the noble profession of journalism.
First and foremost, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically states that at no point in time did the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet, H.E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ever grant an interview or engage in any conversation whatsoever with a reporter or representative of The Oracle Newspaper or any other media entity, for that matter. The claim by the Oracle Newspaper suggesting otherwise is entirely baseless, unfounded and solely for the satisfaction of its selfish desires.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm to the public that upon the approval and consent of His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet traveled to London, United Kingdom, and did receive emergency medical attention from the London Clinic from September 18-22, 2023. This was, and is no secret as Amb. Gurly T. Gibson-Schwarz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Court of St. James, the United Kingdom accompanied Foreign Minister Kemayah throughout his process at the London Clinic. Moreover, Foreign Minister Kemayah during a meeting with Ambassador Gibson-Schwarz and the staff at Liberia’s Embassy in London on Monday, September 18, 2023 informed them about his emergency medical attention at the London Clinic, and Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at Liberia’s Embassy in London, Mr. Albert Jaja even visited Foreign Minister Kemayah at his hospital room at the London Clinic at the time on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, where he met Amb. Gibson-Schwarz also visiting Amb. Kemayah.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also wishes to clarify that Foreign Minister Kemayah has absolutely no knowledge about any so-called US$21,000.00, and Ambassador Kemayah never ever received and never traveled with US$21,000 intended for the 78th UNGA, as maliciously reported by the Independent Probe in its ongoing yellow journalism and as an integral part of the longtime Take Down Campaign against Foreign Minister Kemayah. The assertion by the Independent Probe that there is discontent at the Ministry for US$21,000.00 for the UNGA when in fact Foreign Minister Kemayah never ever received a Liberian cent, let alone a United States cent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is devilish and a complete disservice to the ethical standards of journalism.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to state with humble dignity that there is no discontent whatsoever at the Ministry, and certainly, there will be no discontent as there is absolutely no reason for that.
Instead, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very pleased to inform the public that contrary to the intentional and purposeful misinformation and disinformation by the Independent Probe and Oracle Newspaper, there is an unprecedented growing level of excitement and pleasure ever in the history of the Ministry, not just for Foreign Minister Kemayah’s Administration and more so, in appreciation of Foreign Minister Kemayah for the ongoing historic and unprecedented level of visible physical infrastructural renovation and development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the presence of the newly arrived fleet of Ten (10) brand new SUV Vehicles on the grounds of the Ministry as yet another fruit of the countless benefits being accrued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Liberia in general through the astute Leadership and enviable instrumentality of Foreign Minister Kemayah through his continuous bilateral diplomatic engagements and further strengthening of diplomatic, bilateral and multilateral relations pursuant to the vision of the Chief Architect of Liberia’s Foreign Policy, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia.
The Independent Probe being so desperate to continue as an integral part of the longtime failed Take Down Campaign against Foreign Minister Kemayah deliberately and falsely claimed that it has documents in its possession that US$21000.00 was received by Foreign Minister Kemayah, when in fact out of the desperation of the Independent Probe, if their fake news about so-called US$21000.00 was true, and it had documents in its possession to prove, it would have published such with speed and urgency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs challenges in the strongest term the Independent Probe to urgently make public through its publication all genuine documents it falsely claims it has in its possession to prove to the public that Foreign Minister Kemayah received the so-called US$21000.00 to attend the Seventy-eight Session of the United Nations General Assembly for 2023. This falsehood on the part of the Independent Probe for whatever selfish and political motivation is appalling, and will certainly in no manner and or form stop Foreign Minister Kemayah from continuing to uphold and project his Core Values and Principles summed up in the acronym: TEACH – Transparency, Equal Opportunity for All, Accountability, Client Demand Driven/Client Responsiveness and Hardwork.
The Ministry further challenges the Independent Probe in the strongest term to make public through its publication all genuine proofs that Foreign Minister Kemayah’s United States Visa was revoked, and that Foreign Minister Kemayah did not undergo medical treatment at the London Clinic in London, United Kingdom.
Further, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs challenges the Oracle Newspaper in the strongest term to publish all genuine proofs in their possession to authenticate their misleading and fake headline and story that Foreign Minister Kemayah confirmed that his United States Visa was revoked.
The Ministry wonders how will Foreign Minister Kemayah ever confirm that his United States Visa was revoked when Foreign Minister Kemayah and the Government of the United States very well know that Foreign Minister Kemayah’s United States Visa was never ever revoked.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the longtime failed Take Down Campaign of detractors and naysayers for selfish and envious reasons against Foreign Minister Kemayah will continue to fail as Ambassador Kemayah is relentlessly and strictly focused on his ongoing uncompromising, irreversible and irrevocable reform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which continues to yield enviable dividends for the Government and People of Liberia, hence the public in general.
The Ministry expresses its deep disappointment with what can only be described as irresponsible and yellow journalism by the Oracle Newspaper and Independent Probe. The Ministry is inclined to believe that such sensational and diabolical publications may have been sponsored by evil individuals, detractors and naysayers with ulterior motives, who are strongly opposed for selfish desires to the ongoing uncompromising, irreversible and irrevocable reform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and are determined to continue their failed attempts to tarnish the unblemished reputation of Honorable Foreign Minister Kemayah in their continued failed Take Down Campaign.
The Ministry wishes to make it emphatically clear that no level of detraction and distraction will ever sway away the resolute and cast in stone focus of Foreign Minister Kemayah from his ongoing uncompromising, irreversible and irrevocable reform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Liberia’s Foreign Service; as such reform is not only excellent and fruit yielding for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Liberia’s Foreign Service, but also the Government and People of Liberia, as this reform is immeasurably contributing to the continuous realization of the goal and objectives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Flagship Development Agenda – Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development of the Government of Liberia envisioned by H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia.
Absolutely no level of actions of threat, intimidation, falsehood, false allegations and blackmail has ever stopped and will ever stop Foreign Minister Kemayah from continuing his ongoing uncompromising, irreversible and irrevocable reform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Liberia’s Foreign Service, including, but not limited to the overhauling in process of Liberia’s Passport Regime, the Revised Honorary Consul Regulations launched in February 2023 and the necessary imperative recalls in Liberia’s Foreign Service.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers it crucial to also emphasize that, contrary to the misleading claims in the articles of the Independent Probe and Oracle Newspaper, Foreign Minister Kemayah’s United States Visa has never ever been revoked or canceled. Moreover, Foreign Minister Kemayah has never ever been denied a United States Visa; even before his days of working in the Government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to further reiterate that no United States Visa issued to Foreign Minister Kemayah has ever been restricted or a restricted Visa with travel limitations in the United States. H.E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet continues to enjoy the full confidence and diplomatic respect of the Government of the United States and all other Governments in the Comity of Nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to transparent and accurate communication with the public in furtherance of Public Diplomacy and expects the same level of professionalism and integrity from media outlets.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges The Oracle Newspaper and Independent Probe to rectify this misrepresentation promptly and responsibly, as doing so is not only the right and professional thing to do, but will also be a demonstration of Leadership and exemplary qualities of ethical journalism.
