Monrovia, Liberia – The Governance Reform and Accountability Transformation (GREAT) Project is about to be formally launched by the Liberian government in collaboration with the World Bank and important stakeholders. On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the project will be inaugurated at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Monrovia.

This significant project aims to improve service delivery in key government sectors, boost institutional capacity, and improve governance. The World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) provided $30 million for the GREAT Project.

Enhancing tax revenue collection, increasing access to digital public services, and bolstering accountability and transparency in important government agencies are the main goals. In the end, the initiative will benefit all Liberians by modernizing public administration and increasing government efficiency via the use of technology and institutional changes.

The GREAT Project was approved on June 12, 2024, and it will run until November 30, 2030.

The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), National Identification Registry (NIR), General Auditing Commission (GAC), Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MoPT), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and others are among the important government agencies that will profit from the project.
