Monrovia, Liberia – Following the government’s pledge to allow them to be reintegrated into society, the Liberian returnees protested last week over what they perceived as the LRRRC’s purported refusal to settle them.

A 25 kilogram bag of rice, cooking oil, farming implements, and $300 USD are among the resettlement rewards given to each head of home. Fathers and single mothers received an additional 225 USD.

After receiving the package, the Returnees spoke with media and expressed their gratitude to the government for keeping its word to them, even though they believed it was long overdue.

They committed to using the funds and resources wisely in order to support both their own development and Liberia’s reconstruction.

It is recorded that the LRRRC through its director pledged government support to Liberian returnees. The returnees were based in Accra-Ghana due to Liberia civil that lasted for about fourteen years.

Certain people who were repatriated from Ghana are said to have been born there and are unable to identify their ancestry because one or both of their guardians or late parents passed away.
