    House of Legislature Receives Draft Recast Budget for FY2024

    Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has submitted the recast budget to the legislature. The House of Representative on Friday August 17, 2024, received the Draft National Budget for FY2024 at the ground of the Legislature on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

    Presenting the Draft Budget to the leadership of the House of Representative, Acting Minister of Finance and Development Planning Anthony Millers said, the Draft budget is the performance of the government.

    According to him, it is there desire to balance the revenue preferences, and critical expenditure that are importance to the development of the government and its people.

    Receiving the document, House Speaker J. Fonati Koffia said, in order to improve the budget process they had established a committee to investigate the allege budget altering that was raised by Representative Clarance Ghar of Margibi county.

    He named the committee Members, Representative Robert Wongbe chairman, Emmanuel Danh, Co-chair, Representative Secku Konneh, Sumo Mulbah and Representative Remo Quah of Sinoe County.

    Speaker Koffia said stated that in addition to reviewing the draft budget, they will also be looking at permanence reports and the results, and they will be meeting with the chairman to discuss ways and means and finance.

    The FY2024 Recast National Budget is in the amount of US$ 721.5 m to the Speaker and President of the Liberian Senate.
