House of Representative Passes US$738-million 2024 National Budget

Monrovia, Liberia – The US$738 million national budget for the fiscal year 2024 has been adopted by the House of Representatives of Liberia. The budget was approved by the House of Representatives through a roll call vote for the first time.

The House of Representatives’ intense budget debate on Thursday, April 25, 2024, culminated in the budget’s adoption. It can be recalled that earlier this year, President Boakai government asked the house of legislature to revisit the national budget proposed by the out gone CDC led government.

The budget passage has taken the national legislature close to four months or more. With the new development, the Liberian Senate is anticipated to concur with the lover house in the passage of the national budget.
