Monrovia, Liberia – A two-day roundtable discussion on the Public Sector National Compliance Scorecard has been concluded by the Internal Audit Agency (IAA). IAA Director General David Kemah delivered the scorecard and expressed his organization’s expectation that the procedure will improve compliance, mitigate risk, and reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in the public sector.

Director Kemah advised public sector participants to use the National Compliance Scorecard as a platform for collaboration to advance their institutional objectives.

In the face of competing goals and limited resources, he added that, the scorecard aims to discover effective and efficient ways to maximize the use of public resources.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Education, Prof. Ansu Sonnie, asked Liberian contractors to uphold the terms of the contract with Development Partners Interim. According to Prof. Sonnie, the majority of Liberian contractors lack sincerity when it comes to carrying out contractual obligations, which, in his opinion, hinders the nation’s progress.

Ministries, Agencies, Anti-graph Institutions, and others participated in the two-day roundtable discussion that started on Tuesday, July 12, 2023. Topics covered included budgetary controls, purchasing, deliverables validation, audit suggestions, and revenue management, among others.
