Monrovia, Liberia – The Crak enforcement squad of the Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency has apprehended a Nigerian baron who was found to be in possession of large amounts of hazardous drugs in the Slipway Community in Central Monrovia.

The dismantling of a significant drug network in the central Monrovia belt yesterday resulted in the arrest of a well-known drug lord and trafficker, Mr. Jeff Hardy, a 44-year-old Nigerian who was found to be in possession of large amounts of drugs valued at thousands of dollars.

According to information obtained, Mr. Jeff Hardy was arrested during the raid using a court order. He was subsequently transferred to the central prison and is currently awaiting trial by the West Point, Monrovia, magistrate court.

The head of the LDEA, Col. Abraham Kromah, issued a warning to youth about the dangers of smoking kush and other dangerous narcotics, since these substances are detrimental to the next generation of Liberian. He called on community leaders, religious authorities, and members of civil society to back the LDEA’s initiatives to reduce drug use in Liberia.
