Liberia Amputee Football and Sports Association (LAFASA) has established a female amputee national team.
According to the President of the institution Cooper George, their moved is intended to promote gender equality with in the sporting arena.
Mr. George said, having both male and female amputee national teams like it is done with the other federations is cardinal to the development of amputees football in the country.
Liberia has now joined Kenya and Sieria Leone in establishing female amputees’ national soccer teams in Africa.
The players who have already started regular training are: Wonder Gayflor, Victoria Korgbay, Marthaline Gaye, Angie Myers, Theresa Flomo and Yarmah Massaquoi.
Others are: Kermah Wolobah, Patricia Curtis, Moriah Samolu, Agnes Smith and Progress Warner.
The first trail of the team will come on February 19, 2022 when they take on Sierra Leone female national Amputee team in Freetown for a week long Championship.
