As of April 2023, Liberia has moved up two spots in the FIFA standings, from 150th to 148th. Liberia moved up one spot on the African region, from 46th to 44th. The nation advanced to the 2024 Ivory Coast finals thanks to a 2-2 draw in the first game of the 2023 Nations Cup qualifiers against South Africa, but it was defeated at home by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup winner, Argentina are the highest-ranked country in the World followed by France, Brazil, Belgium and England. The Argentine leapfrogged Belgium at the top due to a recent outstanding performance. Senegal remains the highest-ranked country in Africa and on the FIFA rankings table.

The Terranga Lions are ranked 18th in the globe, while Morocco is ranked second and 22nd globally, Tunisia is third in Africa and 30th globally, and Nigeria is fourth in Africa and 32nd globally.
