A 22 man Liberia National Amputee football delegation is expected to leave the country this Thursday for Tanzania to honor the 2021 Amputee African Cup of Nations. The delegation comprises players, technical staff, and officials. Deputy Sports Director at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kesseley Kanneh, is the head of the delegation.
The competition will kick off on 27 November and it will run-up to December 5, 2021. Angola is a defending Champion following a 2:0 victory over Nigeria in the grand final in 2019 when she served as host.
Meanwhile, Liberia will kick off the tournament against newcomers, Ethiopia on the 27th, the Gambia on 28 November, and Cameron on the 29th of November 2021 respectively. Liberia beat Cameroon 2:0 in the last edition in Angola, but they will be meeting Ethiopia and the Gambia for the first time in the competition history.
Liberia holds a record of three titles in five editions and they will be aiming to win it for the 4th time. Liberia National Amputee Team finished 3rd in the 2019 edition of the competition.
