Paynesville, Liberia – Liberia Taekwondo Federation kicked off its first National Championship in over ten years on May 20, 2023, at the Liberia School of Wushua in Paynesville with 114 athletes ranging from 7 years to 45 years of age.

The competition kicked off with future athlete’s categories in both male and females.

Speaking at the event, Liberia Taekwondo Federation President, Master Junior Pewee Russian said the best performing athletes will represent Liberia in international competitions at every level.

Master Russians also used the occasion to appreciate Go Team Liberia, Lucky Pharmacy, Atlanta Water Company, and parents, for their support toward the federation.

Meanwhile, Victoria Manyanga, Emmanuel Cooper and Lassana Bility were the goal medalists on day one, while Allen Goanue, Prince Tarpeh, Emmanuel Dee and Cornelius Reevs won the Silver medals.

The Bronze medalists are: Adaman Lamin, Mummene Quai, Eva Femah Russian, Frederick Ross and Jeremiah Weeks.

The competition continues this Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the SKD GYM in Paynesville with another batch of athletes in every category.
