Monrovia, Liberia – Nine people have been summoned to court by the Liberia National Police in relation to a false Biometric Voter Registration that ended on April 9, 2023, in six of the 15 counties.
Those who received court sentences included Elijah Toe, William Torbor, James Toe, Augustine Toe, Abraham Kollie, John Kollie, Alfred George, Blessing Toe, and Bobby Watkins.
The defendant was detained, according to the police, for registering twice in Montserrado county on different dates and at different locations.
The National Elections Commission Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Brown Lassana, thnked the Joint Security for their efforts in responding and upholding peace in the targeted neighborhoods so that the BVR could proceed. The Commission announced that the BVR registration process’s first phase, which just finished, was quite successful.
The NEC boss at the same time Lauded the government of Liberia and partners including all Staff and owners of facilities used as registration center across the country. She made the accession Tuesday in Monrovia via the social media.
