Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) Administration has immediately suspended two of its officers for one month without pay for violating legal orders and abusing authority.
The two suspended policemen are Patrolmen Teddy R. C. Boulner (ID# 6351) and Gabriel Flomo (ID# 6017), who are assigned to the Lofa County Detachment and Zone Five Base Police Station, respectively.
The two officers violated the Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards’ Sections 6.1.3 “Abuse of Authority” and 6.4(a) “Disobeying Lawful Orders” when they were observed riding a motorcycle without wearing helmets according to the LNP.
In order to prevent further embarrassment, the suspended officers have been ordered to surrender all government property, including uniforms, badges, ID cards, and boots, and to stop identifying as members of the LNP while they are suspended.
The Liberia National Police warns fellow police officers to pay close attention and respond appropriately, as it would not hold back in punishing anyone who break state laws and regulations.
In central Monrovia, Liberia’s capital city, the LNP established a no-go area for motorcycle riders who are deemed unfit to ride around two months ago. The LNP demanded that the motorcycle be completely registered and insured in order for it to be allowed to operate within the city. Two held melt should be carried by the motorcycle rider for the passenger.
One cyclist and one passenger are included in the measure, and the rider is wearing a refilter jacket. The LNP claimed that the suspended cops had nothing at all and had broken police policies.
