Monrovia, Liberia – Aminata Talawally, a pregnant woman who was eight months old, was allegedly slain by a 38-year-old man named Mohammed Fofana. He has been charged with murder and brought to court.
According to the Liberia National Police (LNP) investigation, on May 17, 2023, at around 5 AM, defendant Fofana left his place of employment and went to visit his deceased girlfriend, who lived in the NTA Community in Gardnerville, Montserrado County. After a struggle with the deceased, he fatally shot her.
However, the defendant admitted that he killed the victim out of envy in an exclusive interview. According to defendant Fofana, he rented a room for the victim and a Man only identified as a Marine, usually called to inform him that another Man visited his girlfriend very often while he was away.
He said that the same man had called that day to inform him that another man was with his girlfriend. This irritated him and made him feel compelled to go home right once. When he got home, he saw another guy fighting with his wife, and when he tried to break up the fight, his hand accidentally hit the woman’s neck, killing her.
However, the LNP investigation report showed that the deceased’s body had multiple bruises. Defendant Fofana however, confessed to this interview that he killed his right month’s old pregnant woman and abandoned her lifeless body in the room, and waited for the day to brake to take her to the hospital.
The charge of murder against Fofana is undergoing legal proceedings.
