Monrovia, Liberia – The government has taken steps to buy the 285 yellow machine equipment, according to Minister of Information Jerenemek Matthew Piah, who also confirmed its arrival in the nation.
Minister Piah stated during the MICAT regular press briefing on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism, that the government has already taken certain actions with regard to the procurement process of the 285 moving equipment that has started arriving in the country.
Because of their proportions, Montserrado, Nimba, Grand Bassa, and Lofa counties will each have two maintenance zones, and each county will receive nineteen (19) of the 285 moving pieces, according to Minister Piah.
He stated that as part of the Boakai administration, the government will make sure that every county Capitol is connected to a paved road by the end of the administration, noting that the World Bank is currently conducting a flexibility study for the construction of the road from Manikoma to Lofa county and that work on the pavement from Toes Town to River Gee will start at the end of this year and continue until 2025.
Meanwhile Minister Jerenemek Piah has announced the renovation of the ministry of information cultural Affairs and Tourism. He said, the process for the contractors carryingout the renovation process for the ministry of information will be done indepently with no favoritism.
