Monrovia, Liberia – Aiming at tackling public waste and enhancing military governance and reformance process for development and sustainability, the Liberia Armed Forces and the Ministry of National military have concluded a two-day technical training program.

Several International speakers, heads of Ministries and Agencies, graced the September 11–12, 2024 initiative housed at the Ministry of National Defense Conference Room at the BTC Barrack in Monrovia.

The workshop was held under the theme, “Strengthening the Defense Governance and Reform processes for Growth and Sustainability.”

Speaking Thursday, September, 12, 2024 at the closed of the workshop at the Minister of Defense, Brig. General Geraldine J. George (Rtd) said  participants learned the best way to correct past government mistakes.

“Go back to your offices and correct those mistakes that have been made, do not continue in those errors.”

The Defense Minister also advised the attendees to use the workshop’s acquired expertise on their daily operations.

Minister George said the more change you have on the mind also reflect on the attitude. MoD Deputy Minister for Administration Dr. Augustine Larmin praised the participants for their collaboration during the session and thanked the facilitators for sharing their insights on the themes for the two days.

Minister Larmin added, the government faces many difficulties related to technician expectations in different industries.

“If there are more technicians and experts in the government, the government will be able to avoid waist and think positively. To think positively, you have to be dribbling by positive goals and objectives.”

According to him, one of the objectives of the workshop was to enlightening participants as to enable them overcome challenges in the government.

Speaking also, Colonel Anto Theophilus Dana Jr., AFL Deputy Chief of Staff, said the session was to equip men and women in Armed to have knowledge on procurement, budgeting, and the LACC process.

He used the occasion to plead with the organizer of the workshop to have more of the activities which will help the Armed Forces of Liberia to understand how government approach works; adding that the workshop was rewarding.
