The National Elections Commission has clarify that all is set for the Representative By-Elections in four counties after the 2020 senatorial elections created space for new representatives.

Speaking at NEC headquarters in Monrovia yesterday, November 15, 2021, Chairperson of the National Elections Commission Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah said, a total of One Hundred Twenty-two Thousand, Five Hundred Eighty-One (122, 581) registered Liberian voters across Bong, Bomi, Grand Gedeh, and Nimba will go to the polls to exercise their right to vote for the Candidates of their choice.

The By-elections in Bong, Bomi, Grand Gedeh, and Nimba are being held to file the vacant seats in the honorable House of Representatives. According to the NEC, the following voters are to participate in today’s voting exercise in the four counties.

  1. Bong County District #2 has                       30, 042 Voters
  2. Bomi County District #1 has                       29, 670 Voters
  3. Grand Gedeh County District #1 has        25, 412 Voters and;
  4. Nimba County District #1 has                    37, 457 Voters.

Madam Brown Lansanah encouraged all register voters to turnout in their numbers and to vote where they are registered. She at the same time cautioned  all registered voters that it is a criminal act for anyone to vote more than once. Additionally, for the secrecy of the ballot, absolutely no camera or cell phone will be allowed behind the voting screen.

The NEC Boss appealed to Liberians who are not registered in the four electoral districts to stay away from the polling places. She continued as she request eligible voters to observer all COVID protocols as instructed by the Ministry of Health.
