Monrovia- A one-day information-sharing session was held on Wednesday at the National Elections Commission’s (9th Street, Sinkor) complex with members of the Elections Coordinating Committee (ECC). Elections Coordinating Committee requested the meeting. In their request for a meeting with the board of commissioners, the joint delegation of the ECC Executive Director, Counselor Oscar Bloh, presented four fundamental issues, he stated in his opening statement.

The ECC delegation, according to Counselor Bloh, was worried about procurement plans, the rules governing the biometric voter registration process, and the reapportioning of the Boundary Constituency in light of the census data provided by the Liberia Institute for Geo-Information Services, (LISGIS). In addition to expressing gratitude to the Board members for respecting and approving their request, Counselor Bloh stated that the delegation was worried about the budgetary allocation made by the Liberian government to the National Elections Commission of Liberia.

The Board of Commissioners members who responded, under the leadership of Co-Chairperson Counselor P. Tephah Reeves, stated that all procedures leading up to the beginning of the BVR process on March 20, 2023, are proceeding as expected. The NEC board of commissioners notified the ECC delegation that the country has been divided into two stages for the conduct of the BVR process starting on March 20, 2023, and ending on May 11, 2023.

The NEC Co-Chairperson informed the ECC delegation that LAXTON Group technicians and NEC technicians are collaborating to solve all technical issues for a successful BVR process after LAXTON Group won the bid to supply BVR equipment and materials. Co-chair of the Commission Cllr. P. Teplah Reeves presided over the meeting, and Commissioners Boakai A. Dukuly, Floyd Oxley Sayor, Counselor Ernestine Morgan Awar, Barsee Leo Kpangbai, and Josephine Kou Gaye provided assistance.
