Monrovia, Liberia – The National Elections Commission has begun the deployment of elections materials in preparation of the 2023 October’s elections throughout the 15 counties and assures Liberians that all is on course.
Addressing a regular press briefing on Tuesday at the National Election Commission headquarters in Monrovia, the Chairperson Madam Davidetta Brown Lansana disclosed that the deployment of these elections materials to the 15counties is to enhance the commission haul mark of transparency during the results tallying process.
According to Madam Lansana, the NEC has purchased 61 Laptops, 59 projectors, and 59 projectors stamps for tallying of the results of the 2023 elections and had been deployed across the 15counties.
Those countries includes; Sinoe, Maryland, Grand Kru, River Gee, Rivercess, Grand Gedeh, Lower and Upper Lofa, Lower and Upper Nimba, Gbapolu, Grand Cape Mount, Lower and Upper Bong.
The remaining counties for deployment include; Montserrado, Grand Bassa, Margibi, and Bomi among others.
Madam Lansana said training of contemporary staff is on going and had completed 79 electoral districts coordinators, 382 electoral supervisors, 5890 presiding officers and 5890 voter identification officers.
The NEC Boss urge political parties to reach the political affairs office to complete their party agent accreditations process.
Madam Lansana however assures the public that NEC remain committed in conducting a peaceful, fair and credible elections.
“As you are aware, elections security is the responsibility of the government of Liberia, as such the continue to work jointly with the security in finalizing the the security arrangements for the 10 October elections” she said.
