Gets Promoted to Second Division.

Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County – Grand Gedeh County-based Paris FC have fixed their name into Liberian football history by winning the 2025 Liberia Football Association (LFA) National 3rd Division Playoffs. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Albert T. White Sports Pitch in Zwedru City, the club defeated Margibi County’s SUSA FC 2-1 in a fierce match to win the championship.

Weeks of fierce battle came to an end with the exciting match, and Paris FC’s victory guaranteed them a spot in the Second Division for the 2025–2026 season. Golden Dream FC of Montserrado County and SUSA FC, were promoted as the tournament’s runners-up, join Paris FC.

Paris FC has achieved a historic milestone by being the first Grand Gedeh County team to win the LFA 3rd Division Playoffs and earn a position in Liberian football’s second division. The victory prompted celebrations throughout the county and reignited enthusiasm in the expansion and development of football in southeast Liberia.

However, local football fans are concerned about the promotion even though it creates enthusiasm. Many people have the urgent issue of whether Paris FC will keep their recently acquired Second Division status or decide to sell their spot, as has happened with a number of previously promoted teams.

Due to logistical or budgetary limitations, teams that are eligible for higher levels have been selling their spots more frequently in recent years. Fans and others have criticized this approach, arguing that it goes against the spirit of fair competition and progress.

However, there is hope that Paris FC may be able to emulate Sinoe NPA, who created history by being the first Southeastern Liberian side to earn a spot in the Second Division and hold onto it.

There is optimism that Paris FC will continue to be competitive and dedicated to representing Grand Gedeh on the national scene as a result of the precedent set by Sinoe NPA, the team reported.

Fans in the Southeast and beyond will be keenly observing Paris FC as they prepare for the 2025–2026 LFA Second Division League to see how they handle the chances and challenges that come with competing at a higher level. If their performance continues, it may mark a new era in the growth of football in Liberia’s rural areas.
