Paynesville, Montserrado County – Stakeholders of the Liberia Tennis Federation (LTF) elected Paul Jamaal King as President of the Liberia Tennis Federation on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Paul Jamaal King defeated Patrick Sama and Cllr. John Puieyoe on Saturday to become the first elected LTF president since 2014.

He defeated his closest rivals by a margin of 21 votes, with Patrick Sama receiving 20 and Councilman John Dexter Puiyoe receiving 19. On a white ballot, Charles Lawrence was elected vice president. For the position of Secretary General, Daniel Dean defeated Lekpele M. Nyamalon by a vote of 30 to 24.

The posts of assistant secretary and treasurer were uncontested. For a two-year period, the new LTF leadership will be in charge of the federation.

The LTF league and election operations had been put on hold due to conflict since Adophus Wade’s term as leader ended in 2016.

The massive burden of revitalising or reawakening the tennis sport falls on the new leadership team.

Tennis stakeholders are hoping that the election of a new leadership will bring hope back to the game.
