Monrovia, Liberia – A one-day series of National Peace Lectures has been concluded by an organization operating under the banner “The Universal Peace Federation Liberia Chapter.” Among other things, the series, which was held at the University of Liberia’s auditorium, aimed to inform and encourage the country’s youths and citizens to support peace as a way of growth and progress.
One of the presenters, Amb. Gerald Coleman, spoke and urged the young people to recognize the need of spreading the peace ideology across their communities. Amb. John Ballout, for his part, emphasized the five pillars of peace to both the participants and the recently appointed Ambassadors for Peace.
He praised the organizers for such a significant effort. In an effort to bring all Liberians together, UPF Liberia Chapter President Dr. Roosevelt G. Jayjay urged all ambassadors to remain unwavering in their calls for peace. They should work with enthusiasm and make sure that their contributions to society as a whole have a profound effect on people’s lives, Amb. Jayjay advised them.
Additionally, Amb. McCarty G. Teayeh encouraged the incoming ambassadors to view their roles and duties in peace endeavors as essential to the advancement of their country. Amb. Teayeh also urged them to work hard and set good examples wherever to go and work especially in their homes and communities.

The event, which focused on peace as an essential principle of the national development plan, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including academicians, students, leaders of non-governmental organizations, government officials, and previous and present peace ambassadors.
At the conclusion of the educational and instructive peace lecture forum, twelve new ambassadors were commissioned and awarded certificates, respectively.
Those certificated and commissioned as new ambassadors for peace include: Amb Prof. Sekou W Konneh, Amb. John Y. Tokpa, Amb. Samuel F.Argbason , Amb.Teddy E. Seyon, Amb.Charlene Abijah Sevee and Amb. Pitman T. Clement
Others are: Amb. Boakai M.Kamara, Amb.Bettina B. Zeon, Amb. Leona Y. Gono, Amb. Saydah Williamson Taylor, Amb. Alfreda BS Tozay, and Amb. George Ayea Kamwie.
They pledged to utilize unity and collaboration, along with other significant activities, as motivating factors in their own peace projects after being commissioned.
